Oroville Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Sudeep Ghuman, M.D. to its Cancer Center. As an oncologist/hematologist, Dr. Ghuman specializes in treating a variety of blood and solid cancers including leukemia, lymphoma, breast, lung, kidney and colon.
“Most of us, at some point in our lives, are affected by cancer whether it be through a family member, friend or even a coworker,” said Robert J. Wentz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oroville Hospital. “The addition of Dr. Ghuman allows us to expand our Cancer Center and treat even more patients.”
After attending medical school Dr. Ghuman completed a residency in internal medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, where she then worked as a hospitalist for two years. Her interest in oncology led her to pursue an additional three-year fellowship training program in that specialty.
“The field of oncology is very patient-centered,” said Dr. Ghuman. “There is constant innovation and change to treatment methods which is why it is important to have a physician there to provide a personal touch and help guide patients in their decision process.”
At Oroville Hospital, patients receive personalized cancer care. Physicians from all specialties review patient cases and provide individualized treatment recommendations based on a person’s medical history and diagnosis.
“There is a definite need for more oncologists in Butte County,” Ghuman said. “I’m happy to join Oroville Hospital’s cancer program which provides excellent and guided care during a very sensitive time for patients.”
