Oroville Hospital welcomes endocrinology specialist Leena Singh, M.D., Ph.D. to its Dove’s Landing Multispecialty Practice. As an endocrinologist, Dr. Singh focuses on treating disorders of the endocrine system related to hormone imbalances such as diabetes, osteoporosis and pituitary, thyroid and parathyroid conditions.
“We are pleased to add another important specialty to our outpatient medical services,” said Robert J. Wentz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oroville Hospital. “Endocrine disorders affect millions of people in the United States. The ability to manage and control these diseases plays a larger role in the overall health and wellbeing of our patients.”
After receiving her medical degree, Dr. Singh pursued a Ph.D. in pharmacology from Tufts University which furthered her knowledge of the use and effects of various medications on the body. This motivated her to specialize in endocrinology. She completed additional medical training in this specialty with an internship and fellowship at the University of Massachusetts.
“I have always been fascinated by the way hormones are released and interact with the body’s systems to function cohesively,” Dr. Singh says. “When these systems do not communicate properly or excessive levels of hormones are released, medical issues can arise. I enjoy working with patients to determine the best treatment options based on their endocrine disease.”
As a resident of Butte County since 2005, Dr. Singh has helped many patients throughout the area address underlying endocrine issues. She was motivated to join Oroville Hospital to further serve patients in the Oroville community.
