Many medical procedures and surgeries are now performed on a same-day or "ambulatory" basis. This means that you can receive high-tech medical care and return to the comfort of your own home in one day. Our Ambulatory Care unit is staffed by experienced, caring nurses who will make sure that your procedure or surgery is carefully orchestrated from start to finish. All surgery patients are admitted through our Ambulatory Care unit. Individuals whose surgery involves a multi-day, inpatient stay are transferred to Medical-Surgical Unit 2 after recovery.

Endoscopy

• Colonoscopy - endoscopic examination of the colon.
• Bronchoscopy - endoscopic examination of the bronchial tubes.
• Esophogastroduodenoscopy - including gastrostomy tube placement, sclerotherapy, esophageal dilitation, and esophageal banding.

Eye Lab

• Argon laser - use of laser light to control bleeding blood vessels.
• Yag laser - post-cataract membrane surgery.
• Digital Fluoroscein Angiography - takes pictures of the fundus, retina and blood vessels of the eye using a special dye.
