At Oroville Hospital, it's the word "care" in respiratory
care practitioner which tells the story. Our respiratory therapists
bring a kind and compassionate touch to their work. Although our
RTs are called upon to manage sophisticated breathing machines,
they always focus on the needs of their patients.
Respiratory therapists, under the direction of a physician, work
to evaluate, diagnose and treat breathing disorders. They are
an essential part of the team which helps patients with breathing
disorders such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma,
and emphysema. But, RTs also respond to life-threatening emergencies
in hospitalized patients, and assist patients who are experiencing
breathing difficulties as a result of major illnesses, such as
heart attack, stroke, or massive infection.
Because we'd rather take a proactive approach to lung disease,
our Cardiopulmonary Department also offers asthma education and
smoking cessation programs. Please call our office at 530.532.8308
for more information about these classes.
