Pulmonary Function Tests or PFTs are used to diagnose the cause
and severity of breathing disorders. PFTs help your doctor evaluate
conditions such as shortness of breath, chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease, asthma, and emphysema. These tests may also
be used to determine whether specific therapy modalities (for
example, bronchodialators) will be effective in treating your
lung condition.
Oroville Hospital's pulmonary function lab is staffed by a
Registered Respiratory Therapist with more than twelve years
of experience. All testing is carried out under the direction
of an Internal Medicine doctor specializing in the care of patients
with lung diseases.
