Oroville Hospital Introduces New Comprehensive Pain & Spine Center Led by Nick Brar, M.D.

Oroville Hospital is pleased to announce its new Comprehensive Pain & Spine Center led by Nick Brar, M.D. The multidisciplinary pain management center offers a range of services to patients that focus on increasing function while reducing pain.

“The ability to provide comprehensive pain treatment at Oroville Hospital will dramatically improve the lives of many patients suffering from chronic pain,” said Robert J. Wentz, CEO and President. “As a highly trained and skilled interventional pain specialist, we are pleased to have Dr. Brar leading our pain management efforts.”

Dr. Brar graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California with a degree in economics. Coming from a family of 40 doctors encouraged him to pursue medicine. Being surrounded by medical professionals across a multitude of specialties gave him extensive knowledge in medicine and patient-centered care. After receiving his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine he completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Stanford University.

“As a medical student, the chief complaint of many patients was pain,” said Dr. Brar. “I became interested in how I could better help patients relieve their pain and restore function.”

Most recently, Dr. Brar completed a fellowship in interventional pain management at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). This specialty focuses on the use of targeted therapeutic injections to reduce pain and inflammation as well as the placement of implantable devices to restore function.

“Many people are living with functional pain,” Brar said. “But with appropriate interventional treatments, we can give them the ability to return to their normal activities, something that many without pain take for granted.”

Dr. Brar has strong academic ties to some of the top medical institutions in the country. He utilizes the latest technology and treatment methods on patients in Butte County to provide a much-needed service to the area. Besides pain management, the Comprehensive Pain & Spine Center utilizes a variety of specialties to combat pain and encourage wellness including physical and occupational therapy, counseling and chiropractic services.

The Comprehensive Pain & Spine Center is located at 1611 Feather River Blvd., Oroville, CA 95965. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call (530) 538-5620.
