Husband and Wife Surgical Specialist Duo Join Oroville Hospital

Oroville Hospital is proud to welcome new Critical Care Surgeon, Dr. Zachary Peckler, and new Colorectal Surgeon, Dr. Preeti Shenoy. The two physicians are a husband and wife duo that have made the move from the east coast, to Northern California to settle and establish their respective careers.

“Oroville Hospital is excited to continue to expand the services we provide to our community, and feel privileged to have the opportunity to welcome these two expert surgeons to our medical home,” said Robert J. Wentz, President and Chief Executive Officer. “The addition of this couple’s talents will allow us to provide efficient and timely care to our patients, leading to the best health outcomes possible.

Dr. Shenoy will be joining Oroville Hospital’s Surgical Specialist Practice alongside Dr. Randell Skau, Dr. Milton Conley, Dr. Ravi Nagubandi and Dr. Elizabeth Johnston. She will be bringing full-time colorectal services to the Oroville community, which had previously not been available. Whether patients are in need of routine preventative care, such as colonoscopies, or interventional care to treat complex conditions such as rectal cancer, there is no longer a need to travel far distances to receive the state-of-the-art treatment all patients deserve.

“I strive to establish long-standing relationships with my patients and ensure they feel comfortable coming to me with any colorectal issues,” said Dr. Shenoy. “Often patients put off taking care of their digestive health and ignore colorectal problems for a variety of reasons. I want them to know that we are here with them – whether it’s encouraging preventative screenings, fighting cancer, or just discussing problems.”

Dr. Peckler will be joining Oroville Hospital’s elite team of inpatient providers as our new specialist of Critical Care Surgery. Being an expert in trauma and acute conditions, he is prepared to deliver timely, lifesaving care to patients who may be experiencing a medical emergency. Having Dr. Peckler as a part of the Oroville Hospital team helps allow critical patients to stay not only close to home, but to their support system of friends and family as well.

Dr. Peckler stated, “I want to be there to care for and support patients on potentially the worst days of their lives. They deserve to have a provider that values the unique connection that is established between a critical patient and their physician, and is going to stay by their side through the entire inpatient process.”

Dr. Peckler is a native of Northern California, and is excited to not only be returning home, but to also be bringing his talented wife to practice here in Oroville alongside him. As a couple, they will be enjoying the many outdoor adventures Butte County has to offer including hiking and rock-climbing.

Dr. Shenoy’s outpatient practice will be located at 2809 Olive Hwy, Suite 220 and will be accepting patients with all insurances. For more information, please call: (530)532-8161.
