Qualifications: 
  • Master’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5 Years experience in Human Resources
  • Membership in a professional organization and attendance at HR related conferences
  • 1 year experience in a unionized environment
  • HR Certification- Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) or PHR preferred
  • Must have knowledge of federal and state legal and regulator requirements related to Human Resource functions, to include Title VII, DFEH regulations, ERISA, NLRA, and Title 22
  • Must have knowledge of and a demonstrated ability in financial management and reporting, quality improvement processes, and human resource management
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Must have the ability to motivate, delegate, analyze information and problem solve
  • Behavior should be reflective of Oroville Hospital core values
  • Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position

Responsibilities: 

Job Summary

The Director of Human Resources works under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer. The Director of Human Resources assists in the overall responsibility for the operational, quality, human resource, and financial management of the Human Resources Department.

Duties

  • The Director of Human Resources assists with design and implementation of policies and procedures related to employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, safety and employee health programs
  • Coordinates the services through leadership and collaboration with colleagues throughout the Organization
  • Consistently demonstrates the core values of Oroville Hospital and serves as a role model to other employees
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
  • Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance
  • Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters
  • Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures
  • Assists in the annual review of the organization's wage and salary program
  • Coordinates and oversees recruiting strategies for the organization
  • Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate on personnel matters
  • Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization
  • Supervises the staff of the human resource department
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Semi- Sedentary: Sits and walks throughout workday
