Pediatric Care at Oroville Hospital
It is essential to prioritize a child's physical and mental well-being by providing early intervention for developmental issues and establishing a strong foundation for a healthy future.
Your child's health and well-being is important to us. Our board-certified or board-eligible Pediatricians care for hospitalized children in Oroville Hospital’s Medical Surgical Units. Monitoring equipment helps our specially trained staff of nurses to keep careful watch over our young patients. Also, the designated charge nurses on each shift are specially trained in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
In addition to pediatric care while in the hospital, routine pediatric clinical care is provided through Oroville Pediatric Associates and Oroville Pediatric Practice by teams of board-certified Physicians and certified Physician Assistants.
Part of that routine pediatric health care includes vaccinations, an integral part of childhood growth and disease prevention. Certain vaccinations are required by law, and Oroville Hospital’s Pediatricians keep up to date information about California’s requirements.

Patient education for pediatric patients is also an important service provided by Oroville Hospital’s Pediatricians. Childhood obesity is one such opportunity where education can greatly impact the health of our children. In most cases, obesity is preventable — and reversible — with positive lifestyle choices. Parents can play a significant role in the health of their children by working with our Pediatricians and helping to encourage healthy eating and daily exercise. Our Pediatricians have developed programs for overweight children that provide positive reinforcement of these good lifestyle choices.
Oroville Hospital collaboratively partners with First 5 Butte County to build a healthy, integrated system of support for young children and their families and caregivers. Recognizing that early language exposure through talking, reading, and singing fosters optimal brain development, we provide a free age-appropriate book at well-child visits and additional resources that expand children's vocabulary, comprehension, and self-expression.
