Norman Challburg MD has been a board certified family practitioner since 1978 and began working at Oroville Hospital in 2011. He moved from Utah where he spent 14 years practicing medicine and watching his grandchildren grow up. Dr. Challburg and his wife, Joanne, grew up in Sacramento, and he practiced medicine nearby in Carmichael for 20 years. Oroville was a great destination for him and his wife, allowing for a quieter setting and close proximity to Sacramento to visit friends and family.
Dr. Challburg joined the Navy and went to their med school right out of High School. He then became a medic with the U.S. Marines. While there he worked with a physician who inspired him to pursue medicine as a career. He enjoys building relationships with patients and believes that when you know a patient well, you are able to treat them better. When Dr. Challburg is not busy working at Oroville Hospital he enjoys gardening, boating, wood working, building things, and spending time with his grandchildren.
