Responsibilities:

Job Summary

Under a physician’s prescription, a Staff Physical Therapist provides and supervises physical therapy services to persons of all ages in various stages of rehabilitation, utilizing tests and measurements, techniques of exercise, and properties of heat, light, sound, electricity, water and massage. 

Duties

  • Supports the goals, objectives and policies of Oroville Hospital and Department of Physical Therapy
  • Responsible for assisting with Quality Assurance programs
  • Promotes and maintains professionalism within the Department, Hospital and community
  • Evaluates and treats patients of all ages, under physician prescription, requisitions appropriate equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate evaluation and treatment records; Evaluation and treatment plan; short and long term goals; procedural documentation; timely progress notes
  • Supervises administration of treatment techniques by departmental therapy technicians and students
  • Participates in in-services and continuing education seminars
  • Attends and participates in departmental staff meetings
  • Establishes communication with patient’s physician and other related disciplines
  • Responsible for rotated weekend and holiday coverage
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment for peers and patients
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Lifting Requirements: 

Work area is well lighted and ventilated. Contact with patients in a wide variety of circumstances. Exposed to noise, chemicals, communicable diseases, and hazardous materials. Wears personal protective equipment as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, or controls; each with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk or stand for extended periods, occasionally required to sit, balance; stoop, kneel or crouch.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with help.
