Job Summary
The Hospitality Aide is expected to perform duties in compliance with state and federal regulations and Center policies. Employment in this position leads to training to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The Hospitality Aide may not perform direct patient care.
Duties
- ​Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine resident needs.
- Distributes linens, makes beds.
- Serves and collects food trays, performs tray monitor.
- Transports residents, using wheelchair or wheeled cart.
- Passes fluids, nourishment’s to residents who do not require assistance.
- Cleans utility rooms, storage areas, and resident rooms/closets/drawers.
- Stocks supplies, empties soiled linen and incontinence barrels.
- May be assigned to a specific area of the Center.
- May be assigned to clean, disinfect, and store bedpans, bedside commodes, urinals, and other supplies by licensed nurse, commensurate with Hospitality Aide abilities.
- Changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone, usually on weekends and evenings or night shifts.
- Drapes residents for examination, treatments, and remains with residents, performing such duties as holding instruments and adjusting lights.
- Other duties as assigned appropriate to the position
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and relate in a professional, mature manner to patient, family, and long-term care staff.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending, in order to understand, plan, and carryout resident care plans and treatments).

- Exposure to blood and body fluids in Classifications I, II, & III (See Bloodborne Pathogens Program, Job Classification System). HBV vaccination available.
- Exposure to unpleasant odors.
