Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of strong project management skills, including planning, organizing, and executing projects effectively.
  • At least 5 years of systems background/experience with analytical tools
  • Ability to clearly articulate and communicate programming needs effectively to programmers
  •  Ability to conceptualize long-term HIS and/or EHR needs and develop orderly long-term process planning of information technology needed to accomplish those goals
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during the project lifecycle
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated managerial ability

Responsibilities:

Job Summary

The Project Manager supports the Chief Information Officer by leading and overseeing the implementation of hospital and clinical health information systems (HIS) and/or Electronic Health Records (HER) systems. This includes short-term and long-term planning, executing, and monitoring projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing resources and budgets. The Project Manager is a key leader in ensuring the successful implementation of HIS and/or EHR projects, which are critical for improving patient care, streamlining healthcare operations, and complying with regulatory requirements

Duties

  • Coordinates with the CIO on project development and management related to all areas of information and electronic health record systems while ensuring project deadlines are maintained and on budget
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for HIS projects
  • Ensure the quality of project deliverables and monitor system performance
  • Alerts the CIO to new developments in information and electronic health record systems technology,  and anticipates organizational modifications
  • Assists in establishing long-term needs for information and electronic health record systems, and plans strategy for developing systems and acquiring hardware to meet application needs
  • Supports CIO‘s management of current information and electronic health record systems
  • Communicate project status, issues, and solutions to leadership and end-users
  • Ensures confidentiality and reliability of corporate data, proprietary information, and intellectual property
  • Ensure that projects adhere to relevant healthcare regulations and standards, such as HIPAA
  • Keeps abreast of government regulations applicable to systems operations and ensures corporate compliance
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks, such as budget overruns or delays
  • Maintain equipment service agreements as appropriate
  • Performs other duties as assigned
