Responsibilities:

Job Summary

The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Assistant carries through to completion specific work projects assigned by the GME Institutional Director and the GME Program Coordinator, performing secretarial tasks and duties.

Duties

  • Creates and maintains efficient office routines, workflows, and business practices
  • Assembles and maintains data relative to various phases of hospital activities in an organized manner. 
  • Maintains record keeping and accounting reports
  • Reconcile invoices for appropriateness. 
  • Answers routine correspondence on own initiative
  • Assists the GME Institutional Director and the GME Program Coordinator regarding GME and hospital regulations, procedures, and policies, and daily operations
  • Serves as recording secretary and coordinator for various meetings, composes correspondence, and manages calendars, appointments, screens visitors, and assists managers, employees, and medical staff wherever needed.
  • Performs various related duties and tasks as directed.

Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements

Lifting Requirements: 

Sedentary - generally lifting not more than 10 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as ledgers, files and small items.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with help.
