Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing Services, Nurse Practitioners and the Executive director, the RCM-LVN managers, supervises, coordinates and participates in resident care programs, including the day-to-day oversight of care delivery in conjunction with other interdisciplinary Team (IDT) members.
Duties
- Supervises and coordinates unit nursing staff assignments; and evaluates the need for modifications when appropriate.
- Assist to develop, interpret, implement, and validate that OHPAC policies and procedures standards of practice, and regulatory guideline are adhered to by unit staff.
- Communicate nightly reports to DON, NP and ED.
- Participates in coaching and conducting performance appraisals with unit staff and report to DON.
- Following up with cubex report and stocking.
- Works a med cart with patient assignments
- Identifies, addresses, trouble shoot and problem solving
- Mar cart audit
- 24 hour chart check
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of nursing process, particularly as it relates to geriatric residents, long-term care, and rehabilitation.
- Requires mental maturity to deal with fast-paced environment and occasionally combative residents.
- Requires tolerance for body secretions, strong odors, exposure to diseases, and varied room temperatures.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension) in order to understand, plan, and carry out resident care plans and treatments.
Education, Licensure and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
