Pranav Amin, MD is a board-certified Ophthalmologist with over 30 years of experience in the field. He completed his residency at the prestigious Duke University. He was also fortunate to have been selected by world renowned surgeon, Robert Sinksey, MD to complete a fellowship training in advanced cataract surgery at UCLA. Dr. Sinskey selects only one eye surgeon from all over the world each year to be his fellow in training, making this an amazing honor. Dr. Amin typically treats patients with cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. He also offers premium lenses and astigmatism correcting toric implants.
Dr. Pranav Amin values honesty and transparency with his patients, allowing him to provide the best care to each patient. The smile on the patient’s face when they can SEE after surgery keeps him motivated as a physician and excited to expand his knowledge in advanced surgery.
In addition to treating patients, Dr. Amin finds ways to utilize his medical knowledge elsewhere. Dr. Amin makes time to volunteer in underserved areas in Africa each year since 2007, where he trains eye surgeons and performs surgeries. He has also authored several book chapters in Ophthalmology.
In his free time, Dr. Amin enjoys travelling, spending time with family and learning new things. Before he began practicing medicine, he had a successful television career in India, where he was born and raised. He is also involved in various rotary clubs, even having received the Rotary International Education Award.
