Oroville Hospital is pleased to announce that Chuck Stewart IV, M.D. is joining its staff as a specialist in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery. As a board certified otolaryngologist with 10 years of experience, Dr. Stewart is trained in the treating disorders of the ear, nose and throat (ENT).
After graduating medical school and completing his residency at Loma Linda University, Dr. Stewart finished a one year fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. During this time he focused on microvascular reconstruction and head and neck surgery related to cancer. He was also one of the first surgeons to perform transoral robotic surgery in California to treat tumors of the tongue base and tonsil.
“We are happy to welcome Dr. Stewart to Oroville Hospital,” said Robert J. Wentz, President and CEO. “The addition of his practice and expertise allows us to provide advanced surgical options for patients in need of reconstruction following a debilitating diagnosis.”
The structures of the ear, nose and throat are incredibly intricate and closely connected. The ability to surgically navigate these structures while preserving function is a priority.
“It’s rewarding being able to restore function to patients while giving them confidence both socially and professionally,” Dr. Stewart said. “I focus on each patient’s needs and wants to determine an individually-tailored treatment plan.”
Otolaryngologists commonly treat patients for ear problems, nose and sinus problems, thyroid and parathyroid tumors, and head and neck cancers. Issues with hearing, smelling, breathing, speaking, swallowing or balance should also be addressed by an ENT professional.
Dr. Stewart is currently accepting new patients. His practice accepts all insurance plans and is located at 2809 Olive Hwy., Suite 210, Oroville, CA 95966. For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact us at (530) 538-5634.
