OROVILLE HOSPITAL ANNOUNCES PSYCHIATRY RESIDENTS FOR THE
2026-2027 ACADEMIC YEAR
Oroville Hospital welcomes nine physician trainees to their Psychiatry Residency Program.
OROVILLE, Calif., April 14, 2026 – Oroville Hospital is proud to introduce the nine residents selected for its Psychiatry Residency Program for the 2026-2027 academic year. Starting in July, these residents will embark on their postgraduate training to become accomplished psychiatrists, building a legacy of excellence that will transform mental healthcare in Butte County.
The following PGY-1 Residents are entering their first year of training post medical school, they will focus on developing foundational knowledge and skills.

Dr. Lynne Pappas, Residency Program Director and Psychiatrist at Oroville Hospital, shared her excitement, “We are honored to welcome our residents to Oroville. Oroville Hospital’s program is designed to cultivate future leaders in healthcare, emphasizing communication, clinical research, specialized expertise, and compassionate patient care. The curriculum provides residents with comprehensive training in areas such as Neurology, Inpatient and Outpatient Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, Consultation/Liaison Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Emergency Psychiatry, and Community Psychiatry. This robust preparation equips them to thrive professionally while strengthening local healthcare services.
The hospital launched the program with its inaugural class last year under the newly established Maguire Neuropsychiatric Institute, which focuses on excellence in neuropsychiatric patient care, clinical research, and medical education for the Butte County community and surrounding areas. The addition of new residents is a direct reflection of Oroville Hospital’s ongoing commitment to expanding mental health services and education within the community.
